Terms of Service
Welcome to Speechly. Please read these Terms of Service before using the app or related services.
Speechly is a brand owned by Liberace Pte. Ltd. ("Speechly," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Speechly iOS application, website, backend services, text-to-speech services, and related products and services (collectively, the "Services"). By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
ARBITRATION NOTICE AND CLASS ACTION WAIVER: EXCEPT FOR CERTAIN TYPES OF DISPUTES DESCRIBED BELOW, YOU AGREE THAT DISPUTES BETWEEN YOU AND US WILL BE RESOLVED BY BINDING, INDIVIDUAL ARBITRATION, AND YOU WAIVE YOUR RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OR CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION.
1. Service Overview and License
1.1 Description of Services
Speechly converts written text, documents, articles, notes, scanned text, and other supported content into audio. The Services may include server-generated voices using Speechly's backend and self-hosted TTS infrastructure, on-device playback using Apple's built-in voices, link import, document import, playback controls, saved items, and free or paid subscription features.
Server-generated voices require network access and may require your text or imported content to be transmitted to Speechly's backend for processing. On-device voice features may work without sending text to Speechly's backend, depending on your settings and the feature you use.
1.2 License Grant
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Liberace Pte. Ltd. grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the Services for your personal, non-commercial use. The Services are licensed, not sold. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the Services except where applicable law prevents us from restricting such activity.
2. User Content
You retain ownership of text, documents, links, recordings, images, files, and other content you provide to Speechly ("User Content"). You grant us a limited license to process, transmit, cache, format, extract, convert, and display User Content solely as needed to provide, secure, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the Services.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights needed to upload, import, convert, or listen to User Content through the Services. Speechly does not claim ownership of your User Content.
3. Accounts, Payments, and Subscriptions
Speechly does not require a separate Speechly account for the current app experience. You may need an Apple ID or Google account to download the app, make purchases, manage subscriptions, or restore purchases through the App Store or Google Play.
Payments and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store or by Google through Google Play, depending on where you purchase Speechly. By purchasing a subscription or paid feature, you agree to the applicable platform payment terms. Subscription cancellation, renewal, refunds, and payment method management are handled through your Apple ID, Google account, App Store, or Google Play account settings. Speechly may use platform store transaction or subscription status information to unlock paid features and provide support.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the Services for unlawful, harmful, abusive, or fraudulent purposes;
- upload, import, or process content you do not have the right to use;
- use the Services to infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
- interfere with, disrupt, overload, scrape, or attack the Services or related infrastructure;
- bypass rate limits, subscription limits, app attestation, access controls, or security measures;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code or models except where allowed by law;
- use generated audio or outputs in a way that is deceptive, unlawful, or harmful.
5. Service Availability and TTS Output
The Services may depend on network access, backend services, Apple services, device capabilities, app permissions, and third-party infrastructure. We do not guarantee that the Services will be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device, file, link, voice, language, or content type.
Text-to-speech output, speech timing, transcription, scanned text, and extracted article text may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, or unavailable. You are responsible for reviewing and using outputs appropriately. Speechly is a playback and productivity tool and does not provide legal, medical, financial, accessibility compliance, or professional advice.
6. Intellectual Property
The Services, including the software, design, branding, logos, user interface, infrastructure, models, documentation, and related technology, are owned by Liberace Pte. Ltd. or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property and other laws. We reserve all rights not expressly granted in these Terms.
7. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the Services. By using the Services, you acknowledge that we process information as described in the Privacy Policy.
